About Treatment with IWG

At Integrated Wellness group, we offer a variety of evidence-based clinical services tailored to meet your needs.

Therapy

Individual outpatient therapy is typically a weekly 45-50 minute session.

Through creating art and reflecting on the art products and processes people can achieve many benefits. These benefits include increasing awareness of self and others, coping with symptoms, stress, and traumatic experiences, enhancing cognitive abilities; and enjoying the life-affirming pleasures of making art.

Play therapy is a form of psychotherapy generally used with children aged 3 through 11 and provides a way for them to express their experiences and feelings. As children’s experiences and knowledge are often communicated through play, it becomes an important vehicle for them to know and accept themselves and others.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy is based on the idea that our thoughts cause our feelings and behaviors. The benefit of this fact is that we can change the way we think to feel and/or act better even if the situation does not change. By helping the client to become aware of distorted or negative thinking, the cognitive-behavioral therapist allows the client to view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way.

Solution Focused Therapy targets the desired outcome of therapy as a solution rather than focusing on the symptoms, seeks to find solutions to the problem. This technique only gives attention to the present and the future desires of the client, rather than focusing on past experiences. The therapist encourages the client to imagine their future as they want it to be and then the therapist and client collaborate on a series of steps to achieve that goal.

Famlilies

Family treatment focuses on relationships within the family unit and takes place with other family members present. Family therapy may be the primary focus of treatment, or it could be used as a supplement to individual therapy. In family treatment, the family is seen as a system, rather than just the sum of its individual members. As with individual and group therapy, family treatment is used to approach a wide variety of therapeutic goals. Rather than viewing problems as owned and caused by a particular family member (also called an “identified patient), family treatment helps to identify the ways that relationship and individual problems are caused and maintained by the family dynamics.

Couples therapy helps couples – married or not – understand and resolve conflicts and improve their relationship. Couples therapy gives couples the tools to communicate better, negotiate differences, problem solve and even argue in a healthier way.

Group

These groups are aimed at elementary school aged children to help them to improve their interaction with peers.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy was developed by Marsha Linehan to treat clients with suicidal and self-harm concerns. Today, this treatment works for a wide variety of concerns and includes skill-based learning and individual therapy. The main focus of DBT is on helping the client become more effective in areas of mindfulness, interpersonal relationships, emotional crises, and overall emotion regulation.
